Horse Cavalry Detachment | Killeen Military Photography

Posted on May 15, 2009

The kids and I had a great time watching the First Cavalry Division’s Horse Cavalry Detachment Thursday. What little girl doesn’t love horses =) I have not seen them preform before, so it really was awesome! They were slicing watermelons and shooting balloons…..how could you not have a great time! One of my favorite parts was watching Buddy the dog barking away on top of the wagon. Here are a few pictures:

PCS- a serious issue

Posted on March 15, 2009

Both my children have this, and it really is very unfortunate. It seems that there is only a temporary solution for this problem. If you have never heard of PCS, it stands for Photgraphers’ Child Syndrome…..and mine have it!! LOL! OK, so not REALLY a serious issue, but it does make it harder at times for me to get great pics of my kiddos. And the only solution is to keep the camera away for a little while :p

My daughter did agree to help out with a picture today and this is what we got:037Granted, I was just wanting to test out the new background….so she did help out! She even sat in my giant tea cup LOL!

I was even going to recruit the puppy to help out with a tea cup picture, but she is getting too big for it. So here is a beautiful picture of a tea cup!! I love this black and white background.

Oh, the joys of MOVING!!!!

Posted on March 15, 2009

Yeah right! If you have been reading my blog lately (which I know you have), you have seen we are in the process of our very first move with the military. Oh happy day, has it been great. I am totally being sarcastic….if you couldn’t tell :) I thought I did as much as I could to prepare, but it is never that simple. But the good news is we are almost done with it all! We picked up most of our stuff, and are letting the movers get the rest.

I have a new bullet to add to the “mommy list” (see below post):

TMI warning—-

Getting to clean up after car sick daughter and dog…who knew they had that in common :p

I can’t complain too much about this weekend though, I got to spend some quality time with my family all together and we will have some great memories! I did get some pictures of the flowers blooming in the yard while we were there that I wanted to share….spring is here!!!!

My kids….gota love them

Posted on August 14, 2008

Well, we were testing out a new spot to take portraits (who better than my mini me’s to do the testing?) and we really had a great time. I wanted to share a few pics from that day:

They had fun running around and exploring

My little girl decided to pick a little flower…….

And then take off like a wild horse….literally! I keep telling myself this is just a phase :) Take note of the flower in flight! LOL!

And here is where the little pony landed :)
We really did have fun, but that picture of the flower made me laugh!

The ABC’s

Posted on August 14, 2008

Ok, so here is my fun new project (like I need a new one!)that I have really enjoyed doing. It is nice to just get out and take pictures of your environment and look at things a new way. The idea of it is to find everyday objects that look like letters of the alphabet. It really is fun to do! This is a pretty new project I have taken on so I am still on a letter hunt :) Leave me a comment and tell me what you think! Can you read it?

Some recomendations for clothing on your session

Posted on July 16, 2008

I thought it would be neat to show you some outfits for children that I liked. Remember, this is just a starting point! They are YOUR family pictures and they should reflect your family’s style. Also, simple is always a great way to showcase your children, the focus of the portrait is on them. But if you are like me….I like a little color pop in some picture too! They become fun, funky, and modern. The trick is to have a modern picture that will not look dated in the years to come. So I did a little window shopping for you to get some ideas!

Ok, so I will start with the girls. They are so much fun to dress!
This one is in sizes 3M- 24M, great for summer pictures surrounded by nature.

This outfit is in 12M- 2T. It is so light and airy, and a beautiful creamy yellow.

One of the best things is both the outfits are available for $22 each from Overstock.com.
So get them before they are gone!

And for a little older girls this outfit is from The Children’s Place, so it won’t break the bank either. Hip and modern, but won’t overpower the photo.
Ok, now for the boys:

This outfit is also from The Children’s Place.
It is for 6M- 4T, very cute!

This outfit is from The Gap, it is sporty and contemporary and would make your little guy look handsome! The layers make it easy to change his look with out having to go through too much trouble.
These are just a few ideas to get you going. And don’t forget here in Corsicana you can find unique children’s clothing and accessories at The Children’s Shop located at 112 W. Collins downtown. Have fun shopping!!
