Frequently Asked Questions
How long have you been a photographer?
I have been a photographer in the Central Texas area since 2009.
What days do you typically schedule sessions?
Outdoor maternity and milestone sessions are typically scheduled on M-Th evenings. Newborn sessions are scheduled on weekdays at 10am, typically on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. Indoor milestone sessions & cake smashes are done on weekdays at 11am.
*Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are considered “weekend sessions” and may include an additional fee if I am available. *Newborn sessions are not scheduled on weekends or evenings.
Do you have a studio?
No, I work exclusively on location, so I bring the studio to you! Newborns are done in the comfort of your home, maternity sessions are typically done outdoors, and child sessions are done in home or outdoors. Most outdoor sessions are done about an hour before sunset.
Do you provide any props?
I provide props for all my newborn sessions. I also have a client wardrobe available for new moms and maternity clients. If you have a specific prop you are looking for, please inquire if I have it available. My style tends to be classic with hints of vintage and lace. I do provide some props for cake smashes (backdrop, cake stand and tissue poofs), clients provide any additional items and cake.
When can I expect to view my photos?
I will contact you via email once your gallery is available for viewing. You can expect to view your images approximately 3 weeks after your session. While you are waiting, I do post a sneak peek on social media.
How do I view my photos?
Your photos will be available in an online gallery for 7 days.
How do I pay for my photos?
Payment is made via credit card through your invoice. $150 retainer is required for all sessions.
Is the deposit in addition to the session fee?
No, the $150 retainer is applied to all sessions. This is just the amount required to hold your spot on my calendar.
Is it possible to make payments toward my purchase?
Full payment is required on all sessions before the session date but can be broken down in smaller payments. The earlier you book, the longer you have to make payments.
When will my order be ready?
Your full digital gallery will be available to view after 3 weeks. Please allow an additional 1-2 weeks for print orders, and 4-5 weeks for albums.
How do I receive my photos?
I will ship any physical photos you order to your shipping address. Your digital images will be available for you to download and share online via a link provided.
MATERNITY & NEWBORN
I’m interested in a Maternity Session, when should I book my session?
I always recommend to clients to have their Maternity Session BEFORE they reach 36 weeks. You just never know what could happen after that point. It’s generally best to do the session when you are between 30 and 34 weeks. It is NEVER to early to contact me to book your maternity session. I usually book up several weeks in advance so I definitely recommend contacting me before you reach 6.5 months, although it would be best if you contacted me when you are around 4-5 months.
Can my family be included in my Maternity session?
Of course! I am happy to include your immediate family with your session.
What do I wear for my Maternity session?
I do offer a maternity wardrobe for clients to use in various sizes that reflect my style. Wardrobe is key to beautiful images and I am happy to help you coordinate your outfits for the session.
Can I wear more than one outfit?
Of course! Depending on your session choice, you may have time to change outfits. Most clients choose 1-2 looks.
I’m interested in just a Newborn Session, what important info do I need to know about booking my session?
I have found that it is definitely best to do the Newborn Session when baby is between 7 and 14 days old if at all possible. Usually right around 7 days is perfect! Just like with Maternity Sessions, it is NEVER too early to contact me to schedule your Newborn Session. Usually, contacting me when you are between 6 & 7 months works well. I can only accept a limited number of Newborns each month, so booking your session early secures your spot (even if baby comes early or late)! Then, once baby arrives you will need to contact me within 48 hours to finalize the date for your session.
What is the difference between a Petite Newborn session & Classic Newborn session?
A petite session is a 1 hour wrapped session (no bare baby/ outfit set-ups) vs 2-3 hours, and the petite is for baby only. The classic can include parent shots & sibling shots. The Petite session includes 10 images with the option to purchase additional images from your gallery. The Classic Newborn additional images. The Petite includes 2 different set ups- normally wrapped on fur & a container or bucket. The classic is custom styled to your preferences and includes additional set ups.
I was not able to book my Newborn Session early, is there a chance you might still be able to fit me in?
I do usually leave 1-2 dates per week open for reschedules and last minute inquiries. I can not guarantee that I will be able to fit you in but there may be a chance that we can work something out. If you know in advance that you would like me to be your newborn photographer then I most definitely DO NOT recommend waiting to secure your session. However, if something happens where you are not able to book your session early, please go ahead and contact me and we can see if there might be a way to fit you in.
Are you vaccinated for Pertussis (Whooping Cough)? I am, my most recent vaccine was in 2014.
